We have an opportunity for a Bill of Materials “BOM” Administrator working within our Technical team, the role provides the opportunity to gain experience working in a fast-paced environment, develop product knowledge and gain exposure to a number of key areas in the business.

Job Purpose:

  • The BOM team is a key function within Willerby’s Technical team ensuring the accuracy of data and product costings, by working closely with our business teams, such as Sales, Production, Supply Chain, Finance and Procurement.

  • Ton manage on going product data in Willerby’s inhouse system

  • Contribute to new product set up and new item onboarding processes

  • Support the Product Design Managers as required during new product introductions

  • Support with reducing cost initiatives and improving the quality of current products

  • Support customers and internal departments by ensuring the necessary support and documentation are available

  • Strengthen weak business systems and bring increased rigour to the technical and operational control of the current bill of materials

Key responsibilities include:

  • Create Bill of Materials and options for New Products

  • Action change requests to master data ensuring that materials ordered are correct

  • Ensure accurate pricing of options and finished goods

  • Assist in the production of VAT pricing files ensuring VAT compliance

  • Attend production readiness meetings with the Operations teams (Technical, Production, Supply Chain, Procurement) to review accuracy of BOMs and any late concessions/changes required pre-production

  • Complete data administration within the BOM team change management (OCR) and option validation requests (OVR) system to maintain the accuracy of critical data such as BOMs

  • Closely monitor costs and expected manufacturing times. Support production with their production planning.

  • Support Sales, Manufacturing and Supply with late option requests and concessions

  • Other various ad hoc tasks

Job requirements

Key requirements, skills, and attributes needed to fulfil the role:

  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above including Maths and English

  • IT literate with good Excel & Word skills

  • Skilled in time management and understanding of priorities and how to move a project forward are essential in order to maximise contribution

  • Most be goal focused and able to demonstrate the drive and commitment needed to achieve results within agreed time scales

  • Attention to detail is essential

  • Energy and enthusiasm

  • Good problem solving skills

  • A good personal work ethic as well as being a team player

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to self manage and be pro- active

  • Willingness to learn
